This is the first time I’ve ever posted a recipe without first making it. Why? Because I’m awaiting one of the ingredients. The recipe calls for “salsa con queso” and I’ve ordered a bottle made with ghost peppers. The moment that arrives, you can bet your sweet bippy that we’ll make it up!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning (recipe below)
- ½ cup salsa con queso
- 3 Hero tortillas
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend (or cheeses of your choice)
Taco Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon ground paprika
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (Or these hot ones!)
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
Directions
Brown and crumble the ground beef. Add the taco seasoning. Turn off the heat and add ½ cup salsa con queso and stir well.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray an 8-inch round baking pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
Place one tortilla on the bottom and add ⅓ of your beef/salsa con queso mixture and then add ⅓ of your shredded cheese blend.
Make two more layers and bake for about 15-20 minutes until the edges start to turn golden brown.
Allow to cool and serve . . . with your favorite taco topping: salsa, chopped tomatoes, sour cream . . . whatever you like.
